To give you some background, MAIKO NAGAYAMA's creative director and designer - Maiko was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. Here she grew up surrounded by her father's architecture works and she developed her passion for design and art making from a very young age,peeling off wall paper and creating shapes in her bedroom.?Maiko has consequently inspired by new technology, scientific new discovery and human behaviour in 24 hours frantic environment.

Aged 17, Maiko moved to London where she undertook a BA in Jewellery design in Central Saint Martins.She also graduated GIA G.G. course in London in order to learn the science of gem stones and became a gemmologist.She collaborated with the renowned Osman Yousefzada in London Fashion Week.

She soon developed her own vocabulary of innovative, futuristic and provocative forms, essentially abstract but evocative of cosmic, aquatic scientific or human worlds.
By combining intensely coloured natural precious and semi-precious stones such as blue and green blazing black opals, deep ocean sapphires and colour changing alexandrite with sensual forms.

Maiko’s jewellery are unique sculptural, wearable works of art.
